Jeep Grand Cherokee Hellcat Slated for 2017
Believe the hype! After months of speculation, Jeep Brand CEO Mike Manley confirmed what the team of Jeep fans here at Eddy Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram had been hearing: a Jeep Grand Cherokee Hellcat is slated for market for 2017. Initial specs have this off-road monster capable of a 0-60 mph time of 3.5 seconds, making it faster than a BMW X5M – complete with the Jeep-brand off-roading capability you know and love.
The concept merges the 707-horsepower wallop from Dodge Charger Hellcat’s 6.2-liter supercharged V-8 engine and pairs it with Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT’s beloved 6.4-liter V-8 engine. Combined, the hybrid powertrain will mean up to 475 horsepower sent to all four wheels through an eight-speed automatic transmission. Emerging titles for this new collusion of power already include such monikers as “Trackhawk.”
